Leasehold in Lombok, explained
A leasehold (Hak Sewa) gives foreign investors the exclusive right to use, rent out and resell a property for a fixed term, registered before a notary in their own name. Malasama projects are sold with 40-year or 60-year leaseholds; Malakasi Villas is freehold.

Are Malasama properties leasehold or freehold?
Most are leasehold (Hak Sewa): 60 years for Saona Studios and 40 years for Malea Villas and Oasis Dune Villas. Malakasi Villas is a freehold development. Foreigners can hold a leasehold directly in their own name; freehold title requires an Indonesian structure.
